I moved to Kentucky in 2007 and went to graduate school. Right after graduate school I received a position at the Bluegrass Rape Crisis Center as a therapist, advocate, and educator. In 2009 I met my husband and we married this last year in Savannah, GA. Soon after I moved to Lexington I missed the connection to Alpha Phi and realized there was a need to start an alumnae chapter, so that's what I did. Since then I helped with the colonization at the University of Kentucky. This was a much different experience compared to recruitment and sorority life at WSU. Further, I have recently became the chapter advisor, which is something that has me very excited and nervous. I just know I have some big shoes to fill because I would love to make as much of an impact as Dalene Peavey did on us when she was our chapter advisor.
Alpha Phi Story:
Oh god, there are just too many to even narrow it down to one. Some of the highlights are always hippodrome, of course, and bonding while lounging in the TV room.
